Planting Hope

Planting trees in oregon project
Over the past 10 years, nearly 500,000 acres in the North Cascades have been affected by devastating wildfires. We, Tabbisocks, wanted to do our part to help, which is why we launched Replant Pairs in 2021 where we donate $1 for every replant pair of socks sold. We wanted to raise awareness about this important issue within our community, and we're thrilled to announce that with the help of our customers, we were able to donate the equivalent of 7,400 trees to the project by the end of December 2022.

Here's a breakdown of the number of trees planted in each state:
* US Forest: 461
* California: 392
* Oregon: 6,303
* Washington: 287

This spring, Tabbisocks was invited to participate in a reforestation project in Lyons, Oregon organized by the State Forests Wildfire Restoration Fund and Oregon Department of Forestry.

Oregon Department of Forestry described the devastation and impact fires have on the forest and the surrounding communities, and the ongoing efforts to properly reforest areas that have been damaged by fire.

We parked our car at a state park and hiked up a hill for approximately five minutes before arriving in the area to be replanted. There, in an area where the wildfire had created a large space, we planted trees using shovels and our own hands, leaving about 3-5 feet of space between each tree.

It was an educational experience that allowed us to contribute to the recovery efforts and learn more about the important work being done by ODF and the community.

We believe that through these small but meaningful actions, we can make a positive impact on the environment and contribute to a better future!
